The rough-and-tough Jeep and Ram brands are Chrysler's strongest, with large fan bases and huge aftermarket support that comes from outside firms and the company's own Mopar division. Fortunately, it seems that Chrysler's new Italian overlords realize this, as evidenced by the slew of Jeep and Ram off-road concepts unveiled at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, a hotbed of torturous off-roading.
Looking over the list of concepts, with names such as "the General", "Nukizer 715", and "ImMortal", is like scanning the receipt from a rock-crawling shopping spree. But one vehicle in particular jumped out at us: the Mopar Ram Runner concept, a Ram-based pre-runner of sorts that portends a Mopar bolt-on kit that will be offered later this year as a counterpunch to the mighty Ford F-150 SVT Raptor.

Unveiled earlier this year, Dodge's UConnect system marries the latest in information and entertainment technology to provide the ultimate experience for busy, constantly-connected drivers. While it's definitely a cool gadget to play around with, utilizing it to its full capacity is even cooler. 2010 Jeep Wrangler Islander and Mountain Fill out the Range!

After a hiatus of over 20 years, the Jeep Wrangler Islander re-appeared for 2010 as a limited production edition available for a $995 (MSRP) surcharge over the usual Wrangler Sport or Wrangler Unlimited Sport price.

The Islander will be available for Sport models on both Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited; it is available by special order only, requires the body to be Surf Blue (PQD).

Islanders will be start being made in February 2010, with production reportedly in the hundreds rather than the thousands. In addition to the standard Sport equipment, the Islander added the 32 inch wheel and tire group, with 17 inch aluminum painted black wheels and LT 225/75R17 mud-terrain T/A tires; tublar side steps, a unique decal; dark gray seats with surf blue inserts and blue logos stitched in; a leather wrapped steering wheel with blue accent stitching and rubber slush mats.

We've seen a whole lot of reporting about police cruisers in the news today, which gives us a great opportunity to remind folks (both civilians and those in law enforcement) that the 2010 Dodge Charger police car is still the class leader on all the key spces that matter: available power, top speed and vehicle dynamics.
The Dodge brand's police car was designed from the ground up with police-specific features. The Charger's world-class rear-wheel-drive architecture delivers the most performance and power of any police vehicle on the road.
Fitted with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, the Charger police car provides the good guys both more horses under the hood and equally strong fuel economy. It helps chase down the bad guys with 368 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the 3.5-liter High V6 engine version is packing 250 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque.

While the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues to wow the crowds, what lies beneath the hood could be the key to Chrysler's future. The all new 3.6-liter, called Pentastar after the conpany's five pointed star logo, replaces 7 of Chrysler's engines and stands as the outcome of several years of development!
The all-aluminum DOHC Pentastar V6, as applied in the new Jeep, offers a 33% increase in power and 11% improvement in the torque department over the engine it replaces, for a husky 280 horsepower and 260 lb-ft, all while returning 11% better fuel economy and helping Chrysler trim it's overall, range-wide CAFE emissions by two miles per gallon by 2015. But the key to the engine's success could be its flexibility: not only is it designed as a flex-fuel engine, burning either gasoline or E85 ethanol with no effect on either output or emissions (no mean feat in and of itself), but the new Pentastar will find its way into a wide variety of vehicles, including Chryslers, Dodges and Jeeps, but also Alfa Romeros. 2010 Detroit Auto Show:Fiat 500 EV

Although it held no formal press conference, Chrysler did display a pair of Fiat 500 models in the Motor City that spanned the entire performance spectrum of this diminutive front driver. On the "hot" side of the equation was an enthusiast-oriented 500 Arbath SS, already on sale in Europe and due here when the first Fiat product makes it's U.S. debut in 2012. Championing the green forces was the experimental battery-powered 500 BEV, shown here, although its real-world status is far less certain at this time. But, this great vehicle has made it in the top 10 of Kelley Blue Book's concept vehicles.

According to Chrysler sources, the 500 BEV is a one-off engineering exercise for now, primarily intended to access various battery and powertrain packaging issues. It's fitted with the same modular EV drive system that Chrysler has been evaluating for the past several years in vehicles that were under development by its disbanded ENVI organization whose functions have now become part of the combined Chrysler/Fiat powertrain operation. However, while battery electric development continues, in a meeting last November that outlined its five-year plan, Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne indicated that the vehicle set to become its first volume-build EV would be a light commercial van based on the European Fiat Doblo and due in the 2011-2012 window.

Consumer autos stalwart Kelley Blue Book is among the most trusted places on the web for buyers to price new and used vehicles. And KBB is trusting Jeep in it's kbb.com 2010 Residual Value Study.
The study says the 2010 Jeep brand vehicles will maintain 35.7 percent of their original value after 5 years of ownership - more than 3 percent above the industry average.
"This achievement is a testament to the strength and heritage of the Jeep brand," said James Bell, Executive Market Analyst - Kelley Blue Book. "The word 'Jeep' has long stood for strength, portraying the vision of what a Jeep is, and what it can do. The Wrangler has, and continues to be the backbone of this marque, drawing a strong and loyal following, helping to maintain it's value"
While eight of the brands in the studys top 10 declined versus their 2009 values - with the industry average declining 1.6 percent - the Jeep brand's resale value improved 2.8 percent for 2010.

At the last MOPAR night on the Bryan Square, I was fortunate enough to meet the Esterlines. They were showing their 1972 Dodge Challenger while looking at our 2009 Dodge Challenger. Mike and Karen bought this 1972 Challenger brand new and drove it for 13 years. There are some great pictures of the family in front of it. Sold it and a few years later bought it back. It was in very poor repair and they have spend the last few years getting it back up to show room condition. I couldn't believe they even had the advertisement! On the weekend of July 4th, they drove up to Casebere Motor Sales and took this picture and were kind enough to give us a copy. It's not often you see such documentation associated with a vehicle. And it's nice to see that Dodge kept as true to the old body style as possible. How often do you see 2 such classic vehicles next to eachother. Thank you Mike and Karen!

Kostner was the 2007 & 2008 European Champion, 2008 World silver medallist, bronze medallist at 2005 Worlds and 2003 Junior Worlds, 4-times national champion. She's driving around the Southern California freeways, beaches and boulevards, to and from practice, in a Jeep® Patriot, but took some time out to check out a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited along the SoCal coastline, and talk to us about her training, and, her new ride.

Why are you in Southern California?I moved to California to be able to be trained by Frank Carroll. He is one of the most successful coaches in figure skating history. He was Michelle Kwan's (my childhood idol) formal coach.
Is it all work or do you have time to enjoy some of the nice things that LA has to offer?I don't skate on the weekend so I get to enjoy the city and the beach. Although I won't be partying too much!! :-)

You have been driving a Jeep Patriot, how do you like it?I am very happy with the Patriot. i counted on having a "not too big" but safe car, and I think the Patriot does a great job.
And what do you like most (e.g., versatility, roominess, comfort after a long day's practice, "do-anything" image, etc.)?I really like the comfort and the power. Driving up to Lake Arrowhead it felt really safe and comfortable. I had nothing to worry about!

Still A Market for Minivans!

Americans bought more than 1 million minivans annually from 1993-2005, and most of those were made by Chrysler. The first to roll off the assembly line in Windsor on Oct. 8, 1983, a blue Plymouth Voyager with wood trim, started the revolution.
The "people mover" is credited with saving then-Chrysler Corp. from the edge of bankruptcy, and it could play a savior role again.
An August market analysis by Kelley Blue Book found used cars continue to depreciate, but minivans appreciated by almost 5 percent -- the highest of any sector.
With no new minivans expected this year, "minivan values should remain strong for the foreseeable future," Flores said.
Also, people are still shopping for minivans, said James Bell, KBB market analyst in Irvine, Calif., and they see only three credible choices: a Chrysler, Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna.
Chrysler made the top-selling minivan until last year, when the Odyssey took the top spot. But Chrysler's total minivan sales remain highest.
Chrysler has always been aggressive in improving its minivans to maintain that dominance, said spokesman Rick Deneau.
Notable innovations include Stow 'n Go seats and, more recently, swivel seats.

2010 Dodge Caliber: Better Interiors, Fewer Engines & More MPG!

For 2010, Chrysler has slimmed down the choices on its Dodge Caliber hatchback and spiffed up the interior, to make the car more competitive with the best of its class. It now offers just two engines and two transmissions, slightly improving the gas mileage.

The base engine is now the 2.0-liter four, replacing a previous 1.8-liter option, with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). EPA mileage ratings are 23 mpg city / 31 mpg highway for the manual (2 mpg better on the highway than last year's base model), and 23 mpg city / 27 mpg highway for the CVT.

Ever since the deal for Fiat to effectively take control of Chrysler group took effect, we've harbored a lot of questions over how the two companies would interact. With Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne taking the big office in Auburn Hills, some speculated that the two automakers would, in essence, merge, while others looked to Nissan and Renault chief exec Carlos Ghosn as a potential example – that is, keeping the two companies allied but run separately. Well, we may have our first glimpse at the answer with reports that the two automakers will be displaying together as one unit at next month's upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
Both Chrysler and Fiat have a history of making big splashes at auto shows, and Frankfurt will be the first major car expo since the alliance was reached. Chrysler, for the most part, has kept a low profile since emerging from bankruptcy two months ago. And according to the latest reports, Chrysler will be limited to a section of the Fiat stand. If you own a Jeep Wrangler for a couple of years, you’re bound to confront the problem of faded fender flares. They start out a nice shiny black and gradually fade to a dull gray after a year or two in the sun. Products like Armor All or 303 will keep your flares shiny and black for a while, but one good rain will kill that pretty quickly. Another option is painting your flares, which unfortunately requires a lot of work and can be scraped/scratched off on the trails.
So, what else can you try? Penetrol. Penetrol is actually a “paint conditioner” thats primary purpose is to make oil-based paints spread easier. However, Penetrol also does a great job at reviving tired fender flares and restoring old fiberglass. Chrysler has unveiled a surprise new member to the ENVI lineup in Detroit. It's called the Chrysler 200C EV Concept and it’s surprisingly good-looking.

The Chrysler 200C EV Concept is a rolling test bed for Chrysler’s future uconnect in-car computer and communication device. It also connects directly to an iPhone, allowing you to preprogram the temperature, lock the doors, allow you to view an in-car camera remotely (pervy parents rejoice) and track the car’s location live via GPS – all straight from the iPhone.
Underneath the hood, Chrysler says the 200C could use either the ENVI EV extended range powertrain or the new Phoenix V6. the concept is rear wheel drive, but they say it could easily be adapted to a front wheel drive production car, which seems a more likely prospect. Of all the Chrysler products revealed at the show, this is the most likely to reach production.

What if the vehicle is running just fine?
It still may be worthwhile to have the problem properly diagnosed. I have seen many vehicles that appear to run just fine, however they become less fuel efficient. Eventually, the cost of fuel could out-weigh the cost of the repair. Also, cities that have emmisions standards may require you to have the vehicle repaired at your next inspection.

Can I have my car checked out by my local garage?

Sure, however, all they will give is a trouble code. These trouble codes can state something like “O2 Sensor Lean” or “Bank 1 Sensor 2 Rich” which means that one of the oxygen sensors is reading rich or lean. This doesn’t mean that the oxygen sensor is necessarily bad. It could mean that the vehicle really is running rich or lean. This could be due to the failure of another sensor, switch, or other mechanical problem. I have seen many do-it-yourselfers without proper diagnostic equipment replace part after part after part and still not fix their problem. Your best bet is to take your vehicle to your local dealer and let them diagnose the problem.

The center hosted PA Jeeps' annual All Breeds Jeep Show, an event that feels like a carnival celebrating all things Jeep. The event attracts visitors from all over the country, PA Jeep president Wayne Fish said.
An enormous inflatable Jeep hovered over hundreds of revelers, many with cameras hanging from their necks, oohing and ahhing at rows of the souped-up 4x4s.
Vendors selling Jeep goodies such as kick panels, transmissions and tires set up shop along the edge of the center. Heavy-metal music blared from the back of one Jeep as its tires crunched along the gravel.
The obstacle course set up in the middle was the biggest attraction. A steady line of Jeep drivers forged over mountainous dirt pathways and gigantic boulders while spectators packed metal bleachers.

Mr. Norms latest creations are a pair of convertibles based off the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8, the 426 Hemi Dodge Challenger and Hemi Cuda Convertibles. Taking design cues from the original 426 Hemi Challenger and 426 Hemi Cuda these vehicles are a modern rendition of the mighty Mopars which use to roam the streets in the 70's. Each of these Challenger based vehicles incorporate E-body design elements from the early 70's including a new grille inspired by the 1971 model for the Hemi Cuda Version, a shaker hood system, Hemi billboard graphics and '71 Hemi Cuda taillight assemblies. Both vehicles receive a set of 20-inch forged multi-piece Mr. Norm's "Thrust" custom wheels with ultra high performance Pirelli tires.

Under the hood of both vehicles sits the 426 Hemi V-8 which utilizes a forged rotating assembly and a Kenne Bell supercharger that pumps out 725 horsepower. Keeping each of these vehicles firmly planted on the groundis Mr. Norm's Hi Performance Rear Suspension system. Anyone who has biked or hoofed up and down California’s fire roads has probably asked themselves what sort of vehicle is capable of negotiating the narrow motorways. One answer to that question is this 1952 Dodge M37 3/4 ton 4X4. The Dodge M37 was the fifties postwar descendant of Dodge WC-series of World War II-era military vehicles. This restored M37 evidently found its way into civilian use on California fire fighting patrol duty. The M37 was manufactured in more than a few variants. A 5.83:1 gear ratio (!) on both axles made good if not slow use of the 78 horsepower flathead six engine. Super durability and legendary ability to make a determined crawl over most any terrain is a automotive quality for which the Dodge M37 and Power Wagon relatives are still famous for. In-Car Navigation Systems to go 3-D?

Navigation systems have quickly gone from being an interactive way to direct one from Point A to Point B to massive infotainment centerpieces capable of MP3 player integration, web browsing and wifi. Auto Express is reporting that GPS units could go 3D as soon as next year, because advancements in hardware could make the technology feasible with already available dual image LCD screens.
If you're thinking that you're going to have to wear those goofy paper 3D glasses to find the nearest McDonalds, that's not the case. Faster processors and increased memory will enable the LCD to oscillate between two images fast enough to give the illusion of depth. The incorporation of important landmarks embedded within the 3D image ought to go leaps and bounds towards finding your destination easier.

In the near term, it's likely that the functionality will first be available in aftermarket systems, with OEM models becoming available after the tech becomes a bit more mainstream. Actually, Clarion has been selling a 3D nav system in the UK for over a year and Sony and Panasonic have had the tech available in Japan, so it's more a matter of when, not if, the tech will be available in North America.

Family car or muscle car? 2009 Dodge Charger is both

When the Dodge Charger returned a few years ago, the auto world was abuzz with its retro design, and resurrected other muscle cars like the Dodge Challenger and the Chevrolet Camaro.

Though some of the interest has dimmed, the 2009 Charger still gets a lot of second looks and comments.
I had the SXT model, not the distinctive R/T model. The SXT can pass as a family sedan, whereas the R/T looks like, and is, a muscle car. The SXT impressed me with its roomy interior.
The Charger’s large size and long wheelbase provide a cavernous cabin with plenty of rear legroom. Seats were well-bolstered and were great for children and adults in the back. Cabin materials were attractive and seemed well-made. There were plenty of cubbies and drink holders to make the Charger a viable option for those with kids. Everyone seemed a little shocked when I, the office’s token transplanted New Yorker, expressed interest in driving the two largest vehicles currently in our fleet, the Dodge Ram and Ford F-150.
“Have you ever driven anything that big before?” someone asked.
“Does anyone even drive pickups this size out East?” asked another. The story was even pitched to me as, “New York city boy comes to the Midwest, experiences big manly trucks in their native setting.”
Guys, come on. (I don’t look like that much of a “city boy.” Right?)
How hard could it be? I’ve used a previous-generation Toyota Land Cruiser and a Series-II Land Rover Discovery before that as daily drivers. If I can squeeze them into parking spaces in the Big Apple, I should definitely be able to wheel a pickup truck around the block in Ann Arbor.
Earlier in the week, I walked out to the parking garage to have a look at our test vehicles. There, parked with their noses extending into the flow of traffic, obscuring the path of dueling subcompacts fighting for spaces, sat the largest, longest, and highest-end versions of the Ram and F-150. In the garage, sandwiched among Civics and Camrys, the trucks finally revealed their maxed-out scale. With a healthy grin, I set out two days later with associate editor Eric Tingwall and photography intern Andrew Trahan to test the mettle of these luxurious yet brutish trucks in the supposedly rugged Midwest.

Its the Fourth of July and, as this is the land of little public transportation, youre probably going to drive everywhere. But what if you want to drive with nationalistic intent? Whats the most patriotic car? We choose classic Jeep Willys MB, a symbol of America to most of the world. In addition to representing our country in wars we were almost universally proud of, it represents a class of vehicle essentially created by the U.S. (suck it, Land Rover). More than its historical context is its symbolic meaning. The Jeep is an off-road vehicle. Its the automobile for Emersons road less traveled. Its manifest destiny manifested in steel and rubber. Its the only brand to successfully crossover from companies owned variously by the Germans, French and now the Italians. It is America. Well? Think you can get more patriotic than that? Lets see you try.

Chrysler's PT keeps cruising

Chrysler had announced earlier this year that it would be discontinued this summer, but Chrysler Group chief spokesman Gualberto Ranieri confirmed Monday that Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne, who also is CEO of Fiat SpA, said the company will keep building the PT Cruiser.

Jim Hall, an auto analyst at 2953 Analytics in Birmingham, said continuing the PT Cruiser makes sense.
Analysts said the decision to keep building it was a good one.
"The PT Cruiser is a car that is selling even without marketing," Hall said.

The car will likely stay in production through 2011, Hall said, until Fiat vehicles are ready for production in North America.

The change of heart came after Chrysler entered bankruptcy and emerged in a partnership with Fiat, the Italian automaker that has management control of the company.

No other vehicle has served our country so well or carried the pride and history like the Jeep has. The tough little utilitarian vehicle was born in a time of world strife at the request of the U.S. Army 70 years ago. It has since served man and soldier as savior, workhorse, and recreational adventure vehicle for an incalculable amount of off-road enthusiasts.

General Dwight D. Eisenhower once said, "America could not have won World War II without it." As an integral part of our military, countless stories have been told about the Willys MB hauling wounded soldiers to the rear for care and transporting troops and ammunition to the frontline, not to mention acting as small fast attack vehicles. After its faithful service to the country, the postwar Jeep exploded in popularity with adventurers looking to explore the backroads and wild lands of America. The nimble and capable four-wheel vehicle, proven in battle, was the perfect trail machine.

The Jeep CJ was one of the most influential recreational vehicles of all time. The CJ was produced in many variations, with different models, styles, and limited-edition packages. The famous civilians CJs were produced from 1945 to 1985, starting with the CJ-2A and ending with the CJ-8 Scrambler.

Some of our fathers and grandfathers remember their stint in the armed forces with the Jeep fondly. Those no longer with us would likely be astounded at the evolution of the original '40 American Bantam design, which has morphed into the Wrangler JK of today. Initially the Jeep was designed as a dependable bare-bones all-terrain vehicle, and through a number of company owners the Jeep brand saw a number of models ranging from spartan CJs to utility trucks and luxury SUVs.

Have your kids outgrown following your family road trip’s progress with a map and cute stickers? If so, they’ve probably also outgrown any idea that they’re derived from your lame DNA? Ahh, the teen years. From planning to documenting the trip, here are a few 21st century ways to keep teens involved in your family road trip.

Navigation systems: Before your trip begins, let your teen loose with a Garmin or other navigation system. They can even pick out a few stops along the way (the double-headed rattlesnake and five-legged cow exhibits might have some funky side-show appeal). They also might teach you a few things that you weren’t even aware your nav system could do such as leaving electronic breadcrumbs along your route.

MySpace or Facebook: Many teens can access their social networking profile updates via cell phone. They can keep their friends in the loop about interesting places they’ve seen. Also, teens can use their profiles as a gripe platform — “OMG my mom is drving me so crzy!” — so you don’t have to hear it.

Twitter: Teens with cell phones can also update their Twitter accounts remotely. They can use 140-character “tweets” to keep friends, classmates and other Twitter followers in the know on their trip. Check out this travel tweet from RandGirl, “The Statue of Liberty is 151-ft and has a 35-ft waistline, and you thought you needed to go on a diet?” Teen Tiffany Eckhart tweets, “Trying to drink coffee while we drive down I10…Impossible! This road never seems to change.” While some teen tweets might seem pointless to you, it’s a quick way for teens to keep an electronic travel journal that they’ll be able to revisit later to remember quirky things about the trip.

Digital video cameras and YouTube: Savvy teens raised in the electronic age can be charged with documenting the car trip with the family video camera (some digital point-and-shoot cameras now allow you to record short videos, too). Once you get home, video and photo snippets can be edited together to come up with a creative road trip video, in-car music video or road trip parody. Use this as an opportunity for your teen to show off her creativity. They can then upload their video for friends to view on YouTube, and you can plan a viewing party for the family.

Last summer, gasoline prices surged to record highs, causing Americans to stay at home and rethink their love affair with the automobile. Jump ahead a year: Fuel prices are down nearly 40 percent and the Automobile Association of America's travel and auto group is forecasting that trips by automobile will increase by 2.7 percent over last year, up from 26.3 million travelers to 27 million.

While only time will ultimately tell if Americans are truly ready to head out on the highway in search of adventure and whatever comes our way (gotta love Steppenwolf), one thing is certain: The desire to hit the road and low gas prices have not curbed our desire to use less fuel. The federal Energy Information Administration recently announced that over the four weeks that ended May 22, U.S. demand for gasoline averaged about 9.2 million barrels a day, an increase of only 0.4 percent from the same period last year, when gas prices were through the roof. And now that gas prices are back on the rise (since May 25, the national average retail price of gasoline has risen nearly 20 cents per gallon to $2.63), we don't expect consumer demand to change any time soon.

2009 DUB Show Detroit - Dodge Charger SpongeBob Squarepants Edition

The SpongeBob Dodge Charger at the 2009 DUB Show Detroit was one of the true standouts. Arandas Tire had some pretty cool rides but this got top billing. You should have seen the crowd around this thing. And they were cool about it, leaving the door unlocked with people climbing in and out. We’ve seen some SpongeBob SquarePants edition cars before but they usually just consisted of painting half the car baby blue and the other half yellow. Sometimes even a funky airbush figure or two… But nothing approaching the theme execution that these guys pulled off.

Chrysler has submitted a series of plans to the U.S. Department of Energy intended to speed up the development of plug-in hybrids and fully electric cars and trucks under the DOE's Transportation Electrification Initiative and Electric Drive Vehicle Battery and Component Manufacturing Initiatives. Under the terms of these initiatives, Chrysler and the DOE would each pay half of a total investment of $448 million.

If approved, Chrysler says it will build a new-vehicle electrification technology and manufacturing center at an unnamed location in Michigan that would have the capacity to produce 20,000 vehicles per year. The initial programs would focus on building 100 plug-in hybrid versions of the Dodge Ram pickup truck along with 100 plug-in hybrid Chrysler Town & Country minivans. Further, 165 fully electric Town & Country cargo vans would be used by the U.S. Postal Service for daily mail service. Two Chrysler LLC vehicles are on AutoPacific’s survey of the most highly recommended vehicles. The Dodge Nitro was the top recommended vehicle in the Mid-Size Sport Utility segment. Chrysler/Fiat vehicles in the U.S. will receive visual and engineering upgrades

The vehicles that will hit U.S. roads as a result of the Chrysler/Fiat alliance will need more than just visual upgrades. According to Jim Hall, an analyst from 2953 Analytics, with engineering upgrades to meet U.S. standards, it will take Chrysler/Fiat about 18 months to introduce vehicles on the stateside.

In its viability plan submitted to the U.S. Treasury in February, Chrysler said that six Fiat-based vehicles will come to the U.S. and will be sold as Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep models.
According to Automotive News, most of those models are expected to go on sale in 2012. Sources say that a group of 20 Fiat engineers were in Auburn Hills last week to start merging product developments.

Back in early March, months of planning and logistics that could put NASA to shame came together in an incredibly in-depth comparison test of four popular full-sized trucks. The smackdown consisted of four tow-equipped, crew cab models: the Chevrolet Silverado LTZ 4WD Crew Cab, Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 4WD Crew, Ford F-150 Lariat 4WD SuperCrew and Toyota Tundra SR5 4WD CrewMax.
The full story on Inside Line gave the overall win to the Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie, but as the story notes, the margin of victory to last place was incredibly slim. Some of the competitors excelled in certain areas but lagged in others, and we'd like to take the time to point out these traits for consumers that have a narrower focus on what they need from a truck.
